This Privacy Policy covers Healthy Life Scale ("we," "us," "this site") and all of its tools, which are hosted across the healthylifescale.com domain and its subdomains (for example bmi.healthylifescale.com, symptoms.healthylifescale.com, mentalhealth.healthylifescale.com, and the others linked in the menu above). One policy applies to all of them.
By using any tool on this site, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
There are no user accounts anywhere on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information to use a calculator. The health details you enter into a tool — your weight, blood pressure reading, symptoms, cycle dates, mood-survey answers, and so on — are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. We simply don't have a database of your entries.
Some tools include an optional history or trend feature — for example, tracking your BMI over time, logging sleep, saving period dates, or recording breath-holding attempts. Where that exists, it works using your browser's built-in local storage, not a server:
The Symptom Checker in particular does not save your selections anywhere, including locally — each visit starts fresh.
We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic — things like which tools are popular, which pages people leave from, approximate location at a country/city level (derived from IP address, which Google may truncate or anonymize), device and browser type, and referring pages. This is aggregate usage data, not the health information you type into a calculator.
Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. You can read about how Google handles this data in Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
This site is set up to display ads served through Google AdSense. Once ads are live, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads (including personalized ads based on your browsing activity) and to measure ad performance. This can involve sharing some data (such as your approximate location and browsing behavior on this and other sites) with Google and third-party ad vendors.
You can control personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at this Google page.
A few tools load resources from other providers to work correctly:
These providers may log basic request data (like IP address and browser type) as part of normal web infrastructure; we don't control their data practices and encourage you to review their own privacy policies if you'd like more detail.
Cookies used on this site fall into two categories: analytics cookies (Google Analytics, described above) and, once active, advertising cookies (Google AdSense, described above). We don't set our own first-party tracking cookies beyond what's needed for these services.
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser's settings. Doing so may not break any tool's core functionality, since the calculators themselves don't require cookies to work — blocking cookies will just stop analytics/ad personalization.
This site is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we don't collect accounts or personal identifiers from anyone, we don't knowingly hold any child's personal data.
Nothing you enter into a Healthy Life Scale tool becomes part of a medical record, and nothing on this site is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. These tools provide general, educational estimates only. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider about your health, symptoms, or any results a tool gives you. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately rather than using this site.
Because we don't operate accounts or store your calculator entries on our servers, there's generally no personal data on our side for you to request, correct, or delete — the data you'd want control over (your BMI history, sleep log, symptom selections, etc.) already lives entirely on your own device, under your control, via your browser settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding data processed by our analytics and advertising partners. You can exercise many of these directly with Google using the opt-out links in sections 4 and 5.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as tools change or as we enable advertising. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Significant changes will be reflected here; we encourage you to check back periodically.
